Blue Mountains Climber's Rescue
Group
Report - Practice Day 6/12/05
30+ people turned up to Mt York and we
ran a number of lower and hauls on the 20m cliffs in the area.
Most were done using edge rollers and for a couple we used the
Larkin Frame. Duting this exercise we tried placing the litter
attendant above the litter tnad this worked well - it seems easier
to deal with overhangs yet due to our means of attachement (using
ascenders and being tied to the tail of the rescue line) the
attendant still has plenty of flexibility to move around during
the lift or lower. We'll add a diagram to the litter attendant
page soon.
The next prac day will be scheduled for mid February - watch the
site for an exact date.
