Blue Mountains Climber's Rescue

Report - Practice Day
14/11/02
18 people turned up at Dogface where
some short practices were done on a small cliff to the south of
the main cliff. The first couple were on a 20m cliff that was less
than vertical and required two litter attendants to keep the
litter from scraping and banging all the way up. We selected two
light litter attendants to keep the total load weight under 200kg.
After that we moved to the main cliff (20m south of the lookout)
where a number of lifts were done down the main face to a person
who was hanging "injured" about 60m down the cliff . A rescuer
with litter was sent to collect the victim. We swapped roles
around so lots of people took active roles in each practice.
The next prac day will be scheduled for mid February - watch the
site for an exact date. It is planned to tackle an exercise with a
patient trapped under a big overhang - probably on Gorgon.
